Brother of Bruce Robinson, Dave Robinson had a strong cup of coffee with the 1970 Padres, hitting .316 and slugging .526. He was a left fielder, and the regular left fielder in 1970 was Al Ferrara and in 1971 Leron Lee.
Robinson was at San Diego State University at the same time as Jim Nettles.
His nephew Scott Robinson has played several years in the minor leagues.
