David L. Keller

1B Dave Keller was drafted in the 28th round of the 1982 amateur draft by the Cincinnati Reds. He hit .298, 7, 40 for the Billings Mustangs in 1982. Staying in the Pacific Northwest, Keller hit .280, 10, 44 for the 1983 Eugene Emeralds. He concluded his career with a .258, 1, 5 line in only 62 AB for the 1984 Tampa Tarpons.

Keller began his managing career right where he began his playing career. He managed the Billings Mustangs from 1987 to 1989, then moved to the Cleveland Indians organization from 1990 to 1994. In 1990-1991, Keller managed the Burlington (NC) Indians. From 1992-1994, he managed the Kinston Indians. He also managed the South Bend Silver Hawks in 1996. He returned to the Indians as a minor league hitting instructor in 1999-2000 and the Indians' bullpen catcher (2001-2002) and bullpen assistant (2003). He has been the Chicago Cubs' minor league hitting coordinator since 2004.
