[edit] Biographical Information
Dave Coble served in World War II in the Army Air Corps, caught a ball tossed from Philadelphia's City Hall Tower, and held various jobs in baseball after his major league career. In addition to managing in the minors, Coble was the business manager of the Miami Tourists in 1948 and the GM of the Douglas Trojans in 1949-1950. In 1954 he was appointed a scout for the Philadelphia A's.
