Pitcher Dave Benedict, the father of Bruce Benedict, pitched in the New York Yankees and St. Louis Cardinals chains from 1950 to 1959. He reached AAA from 1956 to 1959.
Benedict also spent a number of years as an assistant coach at University of Nebraska at Omaha
