Pitcher Darrin Reichle was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 4th round of the 1987 amateur draft.

In 1988, while pitching for the Charleston Rainbows, Reichle threw a no-hitter against the Charleston Wheelers on May 14, then threw another no-hitter against the Fayetteville Generals on May 30 (second game). His 3 shutouts tied for the league lead. In 1989 Reichle led the California League with 100 BB. He never made the majors.
