[edit] Biographical Information

Outfielder/catcher Darren Bush played three seasons in the independent Frontier League before spending 1999 and 2000 in the San Diego Padres farm system. He then played in the Philadelphia Phillies organization in 2001. Back in the independent circuits in 2002, he played his final year of pro ball with the Yuba-Sutter Gold Sox of the Western Baseball League.

After retiring as a player, Bush managed two seasons in the independent Northeast League. He spent 2005 and 2006 as hitting coach for the Stockton Ports and became the club's skipper in 2007. After leading the club to a California League crown in 2008, he moved up to the Midland Rockhounds the next summer and captured the Texas League championship. He took over as skipper of the Sacramento River Cats in 2011. In 2013, he moved to the parent Oakland Athletics as bullpen coach, replacing Rick Rodriguez. In 2015, he was promoted to hitting coach, replacing Chili Davis.
