Danny Wout is a former Olympic pitcher.
Wout was in the Dutch minors with UVV from 1989-1992. In 1993, the 19-year-old made it to the Hoofdklasse with HCAW but went just 3-10 with a 4.82 ERA. He still made the Dutch national team for the 1993 World Port Tournament and 1993 European Championship (where they won Gold). Danny had a 4-8, 4.53 record in 1994 and appeared in the 1994 Haarlem Baseball Week.
In 1995, the right-hander had his best year at 11-5, 4.52. He pitched in the 1995 World Port Tournament (3.60), 1995 European Championship (1.50, Sv for the Gold Medalists) and 1995 Intercontinental Cup (1-0, 0 R in 5 IP in an easy win over Spain and Carlos Ros). Wout went 7-4 with a 5.32 ERA in 1996, then won his lone decision in the 1996 Holland Series (4.61) as HCAW took its first Holland Series title. He was 1-0 with a 8.10 ERA in the 1996 Haarlem Baseball Week. In the 1996 Olympics, the 22-year-old was 0-1 with a 11.57 ERA that still managed to be better than the team ERA as a whole. His loss came against Team USA when both Jacque Jones and Matt LeCroy took him deep in a 17-1 rout.
Wout allowed six runs in eight innings in 1997 and finished his Hoofdklasse career 25-27 with a 4.74 ERA.
