Infielder Danny Monzon died in an automobile accident at age 49. At the time of his death, Monzon was the Boston Red Sox Latin American scouting coordinator.
Monzon manged the 1978 Wausau Mets, 1979 Grays Harbor Mets, 1980 Little Falls Mets, 1981 Shelby Mets, and 1982 Lynchburg Mets.
He played for James Monroe High School and New York Cavaliers sandlot in Bronx, NY.
