Dann Howitt hit a grand slam on September 22, 1993 against Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan. This was the 321st and last home run that Ryan gave up in his career, and the tenth grand slam. For Howitt, it was the fifth and last home run, and his only grand slam.
Howitt's brother, Shaun Howitt, was a minor league outfielder for the Kansas City Royals in 1972 and 1973.
