Dan Plesac was signed as a 1st round pick in the 1983 amateur draft by the Milwaukee Brewers and scouting director Ray Poitevint.
A reliable left-handed relief pitcher, Plesac was an American League All-Star in 1987, 1988, and 1989 while a member of the Milwaukee Brewers. He finished his career in 2003 with 158 saves and 1064 games pitched. As of 2008, he is # 6 on the all-time list for games pitched.
Plesac's brother, Joseph Plesac, was a minor league pitcher 1982-1987.
