Dan Larson pitched seven seasons in the majors. In his busiest season, with the 1977 Astros, he appeared in 32 games and pitched 97.2 innings. Ten of his appearances were starts that year.

Larson was born in Los Angeles, CA and attended high school in Alhambra, CA. In 1971 he set a school record with 18 strikeouts in a nine-inning game. Ralph Kiner is another player out of Alhambra High School.

He was a first-round draft pick in 1972.

Dan pitched 12 minor league seasons, usually as a starter. He had a record of 112-81. In 1974 he went 14-6, in 1978 he again went 14-6, in 1981 he was 14-7 and in 1983 he was 13-7.
