[edit] Biographical Information

Coogan hit his sole major league home run on June 24, 1950 off of Ralph Branca in a slugfest that was eventually won by the Dodgers 21-12. The game was delayed by curfew in the 8th inning (with the Dodgers up 19-12), and when it was finally completed on August 1, Coogan had been demoted to the minors (Indianapolis), never to return.
