The Daiei Unions existed for a single season, 1957, following the merger of the Takahashi Unions and the Daiei Stars. They finished last in the Pacific League, at 41-89-2, 43 and a half games out of first. The PL shrank from the ungainly 7-team format to 6 teams in 1958 as the Unions merged with the Mainichi Orions to form the Daimai Orions.
