D.J. Wabick reached AA in 2009.

Wabick hit 27 doubles in 2005 to set a school record at the College of Charleston; he was third in all of NCAA Division I in that department. He also hit .415, third in the Southern Conference, and was the All-Conference pick at first base. He was drafted by the New York Mets in the 25th round of the 2005 amateur draft. The scout was Marlin McPhail.

D.J. made his pro debut with the Brooklyn Cyclones (.162/.200/.216 in 10 G) and the Kingsport Mets (.303/.368/.358 in 45 G). He also split 2006 between Brooklyn (.240/.296/.340 in 15 G) and Kingsport (.327/.415/.455 in 45 G). He was 4th in the Appalachian League in average and OBP.

In 2007, Wabick hit .306/.348/.442 with 32 doubles for the Savannah Sand Gnats, while making the move from first base to left field. D.J. led the South Atlantic League's most anemic offense in doubles and RBI (64) and nearly led in average and OBP. His 8 home runs were second on the club.

Wabick produced at a .289/.333/.403 rate for the 2008 St. Lucie Mets then hit .296/.324/.421 with the 2009 Binghamton Mets, contributing 31 doubles. He tied for 7th in the Eastern League in average and tied Miguel Abreu and Eddy Martinez-Esteve for 8th in two-baggers.
