Curtis King had excellent major league and minor league stats. In the majors, he pitched for three years for the St. Louis Cardinals under Tony LaRussa, with a lifetime record of 6-2 with two saves, and an Adjusted ERA+ of 123 (tied with Juan Marichal).

In the minors from 1994-99, his ERA was 2.84 and he had 69 saves.

He pitched his most major league games in 1998, the year that his teammate Mark McGwire hit 70 home runs.
