Curly Brown is one of only two major leaguers remembered with the name Curly (Curly Ogden is the other). Brown pitched four years in the majors, with a good ERA in 1911 and 1913. During his last two years in the majors (1913 and 1915) he hit pretty well, going 6-for-16.
He pitched in the PCL in 1918, posting a 1.56 ERA. The following year he had a 2.03 ERA, which led the league.
