Cumaná is the capital of Sucre State in Venezuela. It is located 235 miles east of Caracas, at the mouth of the Manzanares River on the Caribbean Sea, and is the oldest city founded by Europeans on the American mainland. Rafael Betancourt, Armando Galarraga, Cesar Jimenez, Jose Malave, Andrea Lucati, Omar Malavé, Luis Maza and Edgar Ramos were born here.
