The Cuba national baseball team is a national team of Cuba and is controlled by the Federación Cubana de Béisbol. It represents the nation in senior-level men's international competition. The team is a member of the COPABE. Cuba has been the dominant team in international competition since the 1940s. They have won 26 of 28 Baseball World Cups they have played in, 12 of 14 Pan American Games and 3 of 5 Olympics. Prominent national team members have included Omar Linares, Orestes Kindelan, Jose Contreras, Braudilio Vinent, Orlando Hernandez, Antonio Pacheco, Victor Mesa, Germán Mesa and Lourdes Gourriel.
Cuba made the finals of every major global baseball tournament from the 1952 Amateur World Series through 2008 Olympics (discounting a regional tournament, the 1959 Pan American Games), 40 straight events, before falling short of the semifinals in the 2009 World Baseball Classic.
