 Biographical Information
Corey Adamson has been a minor league outfielder. His father Tony Adamson was an Olympic performer for Australia.
Corey signed with the San Diego Padres in July 2008; the scouts were Trevor Schumm and Randy Smith. He made his pro debut with the AZL Padres in 2009, struggling, going 7 for 49 with a double, four walks and 17 whiffs. In the 2010 Claxton Shield, he was 6 for 22 with a double and triple. He split 2010 between the AZL Padres (.283/.359/.362 in 36 G) and Eugene Emeralds (5 for 42, 6 BB, 17 K). In the 2010-2011 Australian Baseball League, he went an abysmal 1-for-26 with 6 walks and 9 strikeouts for the Perth Heat.
In the summer of 2011, he appeared again for the AZL Padres (.245/.319/.328 in 48 G) and also got into six games for the Fort Wayne TinCaps (3 for 18, 2B, 7 K). In the 2011-2012 ABL, he showed good strides for Perth, hitting .325/.357/.350 in a backup outfield role. He was still not doing much in the minors, though, hitting .240/.327/.325 in 66 games for Eugene (with 15 steals in 24 tries) and .111/.245/.160 in 29 games for Fort Wayne. He tried his hand at pitching, giving up 6 runs (4 earned) on 5 hits and 5 walks in 3 1/3 IP for Eugene.
