[edit] Biographical Information

Conklyn Meriwether played minor league ball from 1939 to 1954. Prior to 1948, he was mainly a pitcher, although he also played some outfield. For the last seven years of his career, he was a first baseman. During his career, he played in the farm systems of the Yankees, the Cardinals, the Tigers, and the Giants.

Meriwether compiled 280 home runs and had two years where he hit over 40. He ended his career with a .307 lifetime batting average. On the mound, he was 57-53 with a 3.76 earned run average.

In 1954, Meriwether was one of four men to manage the Tallahassee Rebels in the Class B Florida International League.
