Colt Griffin was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the 1st Round (9th overall) of the 2001 amateur draft. He was a High School All-American in 2001 and was the first documented high school pitcher to throw 100mph. He retired July 25, 2006. In 373 minor league innings he walked 278, hit 44 batters, and threw 82 wild pitches. He posted a career 4.79 ERA
