The Coastal Bend Aviators began play in the independent Central Baseball League in 2003. After three seasons, they joined the new American Association in 2006. Following the 2007 season, the club ceased operations in light of insufficient support form the community.
The Aviators played their home games at Fairgrounds Field in Robstown, Texas, which is located about 12 miles west of Corpus Christi.
