Part of a run of horrible one-year Negro League teams teams from Cleveland, OH, the Cleveland Hornets went 17-42 in 1927, slightly better than the Memphis Red Sox. Pete Duncan was a player-manager. The brightest spot was possibly SS Bill Riggins, who hit .311.
