Clemente "Sungo" Carrera
 Biographical Information
Sungo Carrera managed the Cuban national team to Gold Medals in the Amateur World Series shortly after both the Fulgencio Batista coup and the Fidel Castro revolution, putting together teams on short notice and amidst turmoil. He led Cuba to Gold in both the 1952 Amateur World Series and 1961 Amateur World Series.
He later managed in the Mexican League, the highest level of professional baseball in Mexico. He skippered the Monterrey Sultanes from 1962 to 1964, the Angeles de Puebla in 1976 and the Tampico Alijadores in 1977.
He was elected to the Cuban Baseball Hall of Fame in 1998.
