47 years after the previous professional club from Clarksville, TN, the Clarksville Coyotes. They were 31-41 that first year back, in the 1996 Big South League. Managed by Nate Colbert, they had the lowest attendance in the league (31,287) and had one All-Star, 3B Tony Gonzalez (.359, a league-leading 25 doubles, .541 slugging, third in average). Jeff Rhein hit .341 and stole 31 bases. Managed by Jeff Bibb the next year, they were 32-39 in the Heartland League and drew 30,877, 4th in the 8-team loop. George Lovett (5-6, 2.99) led the staff while Shawn Nasin (.287) scored the most runs in the league (58). They did not return in 1998.
