Panama City, which is simply called Panamá in Spanish, is the capital of Panama (the country), in Central America. It is located on the Gulf of Panama, on the Pacific (i.e. southern) coast of the country, east of the mouth of the Panama Canal. Panama City hosted the 1938 Central American and Caribbean Games.
