Cincinnati Red Stockings

The Cincinnati Red Stockings can refer to several teams. First, there was an amateur team in the 1860's that grew into the first openly-professional team in the late 1860's which was virtually unbeatable. Second, the term can refer to the early National League team, although others refer to it as the Reds. Third, the term can refer to the American Association team that was a major league entry.
