Chuck "Bobo" Brayton coached Washington State University from 1962 to 1994. He led the team to the College World Series in 1965 and 1976. Brayton won 1,162 games as the coach at WSU. Brayton was the fifth D-I college coach to reach 1,000 wins on April 11, 1990. He managed Team USA in the 1971 Pan American Games (the US won Silver, finishing behind Cuba). The Cougars play home games at Bailey-Brayton Field.
As a player, he was the American Baseball Coaches Association All-American shortstop for the Cougars in 1947.
Brayton managed the Tri-City Posse of the independent Western League in 1996.
