Chuck Templeton began his pro career in 1951. He missed the 1953 season due to military service, then was in the majors by 1955. However, an injury cut his career short, with his last professional season in 1957.
He played first in Montreal and then in Union City in 1954. With an impressive fastball, he went 10-3 for Union City and finished the 1954 season with St. Paul.
The next year, 1955, he was 14-9 with St. Paul and came briefly to the 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers, although he did not play in post-season.
He was back with St. Paul in 1956 and 1957.
