Christian Mura is a former Olympic pitcher.
Mura debuted with his native Godo, seeing limited action in 1992 and 1993. He next surfaced in Serie A1 with Caserta BC in 1998, going 3-3 with a 4.92 ERA but walking 41 in 60 1/3 innings. In 1999, he fell to 3-7, 5.68 with 54 walks in 77 2/3 innings and opponents hit .296/.376/.403 against him. Mura moved to Fortitudo Bologna in 2000 and went 7-5 with a 3.05 ERA and 83 strikeouts in 88 2/3 innings.
Mura went 0-1 with a 2.08 ERA in the 2000 Haarlem Baseball Week. He allowed three runs in four innings as a reliever for Italy in the 2000 Olympics. He was 10-6 with a 2.23 ERA in 2001, allowing a .222/.265/.305 line. He was one win shy of the Serie A1 lead. He then returned to Godo, which was not in Italy's top league at the time. They were back in A1 in 2006, when Mura turned in a 9-4, 2.62 record. He tied Roque Roman and Victor Arias for the league lead in victories. Mura fell to 2-10, 6.81 in 2007, his last season, then became Bologna's General Manager. As a player, Mura had gone 34-36 with a 4.03 ERA in 94 games in Italy's top circuit.
