In 1990, Chris Welsh played for the St. Petersburg Pelicans of the Senior Professional Baseball Association. He pitched in 5 games and was 2-2 with a 3.90 ERA when the league folded.
After his playing career ended, he became a television broadcaster for the Cincinnati Reds.
