Christopher Jon Weinke

Chris Weinke was a second round draft pick of the Toronto Blue Jays in the 1990 draft after being a star baseball player and quarterback at Cretin-Derham Hall High School in St. Paul. A third baseman, Weinke struggled in minor league ball and only reached AA before deciding to return to play College Football for the Florida State Seminoles. Weinke did lead the Florida State League & Southern League in RBI in 1993 & 1994, with 98 & 87 for Dunedin & Knoxville respectively. After winning the Heisman Trophy in 2000, Weinke was drafted by the Carolina Panthers and served as the team's starter for a time.
