Chris Van Cuyk pitched 44 games in the majors for the 1950-52 Brooklyn Dodgers, mostly as a starter.
The Dodgers Encyclopedia describes the game on May 21, 1952, when the Dodgers scored 15 runs in one inning. Van Cuyk was the pitcher that day against the Reds, and in addition to getting the win that day, had four hits, including two in the big inning. The Encyclopedia calls Van Cuyk "handsome" and a "flamethrower", and says he was fresh off a 11-4 year the previous season at Montreal.
He was with the Fort Worth Cats in 1948-50.
He is the brother of Johnny Van Cuyk.
