Pitcher Chris Smith was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the first round of the 2001 amateur draft and made his pro debut that summer. However, in five seasons in the O's organization he appeared in just 24 games, never playing above the Class A level. Chris is presently the Hitting Coach at SUNY Old Westbury on Long Island.
