Chris Latham was drafted as a middle infielder by Los Angeles Dodgers in the 11th Round of the 1991 amateur draft. In his professional debut with the Yakima Bears, he led the Northwest League in hitting (.340), runs (70), hits (98), and total bases (148). He also had 33 stolen bases and was caught stealing a league-leading 30 times.
