Chris Duncan was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1st round of the 1999 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Manny Guerra and made his pro debut that summer.

Duncan set a team record for the Cardinals for home runs by a left-handed rookie: 22 (2006)

Duncan is the son of St. Louis Cardinals pitching coach Dave Duncan and the brother of Shelley Duncan.

Duncan retired in 2011 after battling neck and arm injuries for several seasons. Late in 2011, he became a talk radio host in St. Louis, where he'd had his outstanding rookie season.

In 2012, Duncan was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a form of cancer that manifested in a brain tumor. He returned to the mic in January 2013, after undergoing surgery and treatment to recover speech functions.
