[edit] Biographical Information

Chris Denorfia was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 19th round of the 2002 amateur draft. He was signed by scout John Brickley and made his pro debut that summer.

Denorfia was the starting centerfielder for the Italian national baseball team in the 2009 World Baseball Classic. He had a tremendous game against Canada on March 9, going 4 for 4 with 2 doubles, a walk, 2 RBI and a diving catch to rob Joey Votto of a double, to lead Italy to a 6-2 upset over the higher-ranked Canadian team.
