Chris Coletta had an excellent partial season with the bat for the 1972 Angels, posting a line of .300/.323/.433 during the second dead-ball era when the 1972 American League as a whole hit .239.
Coletta was a long-time minor leaguer, breaking into pro ball in 1963. Most years from 1966-76 he was in the International League at least part of the season. In 1972 he hit .332 for Louisville and was over .300 several other times in his minor league career.
