Chico Vaughns is a former minor league baseball outfielder who is perhaps best remembered for being involved in a trade that took place on February 8, 1972 between the Philadelphia Phillies and Milwaukee Brewers. The Phillies sent Bobby Pfeil to the to the Brewers for a player to be named later. That player to be named later would end up being Chico Vaughns.
Vaughns played for various minor league teams, including the Newark Co-Pilots, Vancouver Mounties, Eugene Emeralds.
His professional career came to an end after he suffered an injury in a surfboarding accident in Hawaii. [1]
Vaughns played from 1966-1974, twice hitting over .300 at AAA and peaking at 18 home runs.
