Chick Bowen came out of the College of the Holy Cross in 1919, where he had been with Joe Dugan and Jigger Statz. He made his major league debut in September 1919 for manager John McGraw.
The next year, in Rochester, he hit .292.
He was the baseball coach at Hillhouse High School in New Haven in the early 1940s.
