Che-Yi Su spent some time in the Chinese Professional Baseball League.

Su played in the 1995 Little League World Series. He was 1-2 with a 5.93 ERA in the 2003 World Port Tournament, striking out 19 in 13 2/3 IP. He led the Tournament in strikeouts.

Su was 1-0 with a 1.88 ERA in the 2003 Baseball World Cup, allowing 8 hits and 7 walks in 14 1/3 IP. The Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies scouted him that season but he did not sign. He was with Taiwan for the 2004 World University Championship.

In 2005, he was the second overall pick in the CPBL draft, taken by the China Trust Whales. He was 5-2 with a 3.31 ERA as a rookie in 2006 but fell to 2-3, 5.74 in 2007 with 82 hits in 58 innings. Su gave up five runs and four hits in one inning in 2008.

When the Whales folded at the end of 2008, no team claimed Su.

Su's repertoire featured a forkball, curveball, slider and changeup. His fastball peaked at 97.5 mph in 2003.
