Charlie Sweasy was part of the great 1869 Cincinnati Red Stockings. He was with the Irvingtons in 1866-67, and the Buckeyes in 1868. He managed the 1875 St. Louis Red Stockings, which went 4-15.
His obituary says he had to retire from baseball due to rheumatism, and that he died at the age of 61 from consumption.
