Charlie Chech had three good years in the majors and a fourth which wasn't too bad. He had come from the St. Paul team to the majors, and afterwards went back to St. Paul.
In 1903 Chech went 24-9 with St. Paul and in 1904 he was 27-8.
With the 1905 Cincinnati Reds, he was the same age as teammate Harry Steinfeldt. With the 1908 Cleveland Naps, he was two years older than fellow pitcher Addie Joss. With the 1909 Boston Red Sox, he was ten years older than the young center fielder Tris Speaker.
He and Joss are both listed as having been at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Joss in 1899, Chech between 1896-1904.
