Charley Root was a top pitcher of the 1920's and 1930's, winning 201 games in his major league career. Almost all of it was spent with the Chicago Cubs, and he was a key player for them on four World Series teams, in 1929, 1932, 1935, and 1938. In addition, he went 26-15 in 1927.
