In 1921, the Charleston Palmettos became known by a shorter name, the Charleston Pals. With a lineup featuring Kiki Cuyler, Joe Kiefer, and George Pipgras, they won a South Atlantic League crown in 1922. However, the following year, the club moved to Macon, Georgia, and became the Macon Peaches.
