"Chappie" Snodgrass played three games in the major leagues at the age of 31. His team was the 1901 Orioles in the new 1901 American League. On May 15, 1901, manager John McGraw put Snodgrass into the third spot of the lineup, and Snodgrass reponded with his only major league hit, a single in the eighth inning which scored the lead-off hitter McGraw.
There is a store in Montreal named "Mortimer Snodgrass". The first name was the name of the owners' dog, while the last name was in honor of Chappie Snodgrass. Mortimer Snodgrass store.
