[edit] Biographical Information

Chao Wang (王超) was the first Chinese player to play in Organized Baseball, as he was signed by the Seattle Mariners in 2001.

Wang was assigned to the AZL Mariners in 2002 where he went 0-2 with an 5.14 ERA in 13 games. He pitched in one more game, not registering a decision in 2003 for the AZL Mariners, throwing 1 and 2/3 scoreless innings and allowing three hits before being let go by the Mariners.

Wang later became an outfielder. He was 1 for 8 with four strikeouts in the 2008 Olympics, backing up Hongbo Zhang in left field for the host nation.
