[edit] Biographical Information
Champ Osteen was nothing if not consistent. As a rookie he hit .200, then as a second-year man hit .196, repeated the .196 average in his third year, and in his fourth year hit .200 again.
He came to the Senators after being drafted from Davenport.
He is the first of three major leaguers named Osteen, with the other two being pitchers and contemporaries - Claude Osteen and Darrell Osteen.
