Pitcher Chad Reineke is a product of the Houston Astros organization who was sent to the San Diego Padres just before the trading deadline in 2008 in return for veteran left-hander Randy Wolf. He was called up to San Diego a few days later when Chris Young was placed on the disabled list with a strained right forearm, and made his debut on August 16, 2008, taking Young's turn in the starting rotation. He picked up the win by giving up 3 runs in 5 innings against the Philadelphia Phillies.
