Chad Allen won a bronze medal for the United States at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. He returned to Team USA in 2006 for the Americas qualifier for the 2008 Olympics and hit .250/.387/.500 while rotating in left field with Billy Butler and in right field with Skip Schumaker.
Allen testified during George Mitchell's steroid investigation as part of a deal with US authorities. Allen had been providing them information about internet drug mills.
